Our client is one of the largest global telecommunications companies located in Berkshire. Ideally, this position will suit a Junior Lawyer with a minimum of 2 years general commercial experience. To be considered for this role, you must be ready to take on more accountability, responsibility and be confident in making decisions in your work. Whilst you will report to the Lead Counsel and work closely within the in-house team, it is important that your core competencies, knowledge and experience supports you in making sound commercial decisions, confidence with working with internal clients, communicate and identify key risks both internally and across the management team and deliver concise, clear and logical commercial decisions.
Your role will not be limited to but will include:
- Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts for the Enterprise Business Unit UK.
- Provide legal advice, assistance and support to the business areas and the UK Legal Team both in writing and orally to include presentations and meetings.
- Liaise with external solicitors with respect to ongoing advice.
- Work closely with the Dispute Resolution Team with respect to strategy and position.
- Reviewing resourced information with a view to raising new and/or emerging issues to include providing advice and comments in writing, presentations and workshops.
- Working as part of a team with respect to keeping up to date notes and/or templates so the team cotinue to operate efficiently to include providing any ongoing training in this respect.
- Work as part of the greater legal team to share ideas, learning and best practice.
To be ideally considered for this opportunity it is essential you have:
- A Law Degree with post qualified experience of a minimum of 2 years specifically in commercial law.
- Proficient drafting skills.
- Be a good negotiator and influencer.
- Be at a level where you are ready to take ownership of projects and be driven to their successful completion.
- Be at a level where you feel confident to continue to work across your projects with less supervision.
