Locum Prosecutions Solicitor

An excellent opportunity for a Locum Prosecutions Solicitor has arisen with a Local Authority legal team based in the West Midlands.

This role has become available as a maternity cover and can offer an attractive contract length of 12 months+.

The successful applicant will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive that holds a current practising certificate. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within Regulations and Prosecutions for a Local Authority.

Duties will include:

• Managing a caseload of complex and contentious cases in respect of regulatory and licensing matters
• Provide legal advice to client departments and the Council, Directorates an Service Areas
• Work alongside the wider team to include other Lawyers, Team Leaders and the Legal Services Manager
• Represent the Council in relevant Courts and Tribunals
• Maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of relevant case law
• Providing assistance to other Lawyers by covering hearings, panels, committees and forums
• Drafting relevant legal documents to include pleadings
• Undertaking advocacy in court and communicating effectively

The hourly rate on offer will be £30-£35 on an umbrella basis however this will be dependent on experience.
