We require a 4+ year PQE Data Protection and Privacy Lawyer to join our team supporting a leading Blue Chip company based in Central London. You will be working directly with the Blue Chip Company in a fast moving environment and within their highly regarded team.

The role is to ensure that the company complies with Data Protection laws and regulations and this will involve working closely with the Corporate and EMEA Legal and IT Functions of the company.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing sound legal advice which takes account of the commercial and regulatory environment in which the company operates
  • Assisting colleagues with contract drafting and negotiations
  • Responding to and advising on new legislation or UK court decisions relating to Data Protection
  • Supporting the Global Data Protection function in developing and maintaining relevant internal corporate policies and training
  • Cooperating with and handling communications with Data Protection regulators, and any regulatory inspections and audits
  • Promoting good Data Protection and privacy practices
  • Fielding and advising on Data Protection law questions across the organisation and supporting business projects and initiatives to ensure compliance.

You will have:

  • 4+ years PQE
  • Law degree or professional legal qualification
  • Experience of interfacing with data protection regulators desirable
  • Highly technically minded with an ability to analyse data protection and processing issues in the context of complex IT systems, web based technologies and other media.
  • Commercial awareness, excellent business sense and key ability to develop practical approaches and prompt solutions
  • Resilient profile with the ability to deliver in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders to achieve the objective.

    The role is for an initial six (6) month period but with a potential to be extended considerably.
