Legal Counsel

A fantastic opportunity to join an established and expanding legal team in order to focus on a diverse range of legal issues.

A leading regional business based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire is seeking a dynamic and forward thinking in-house lawyer to join their team. You will be involved across a range of disciplines including: commercial, litigation, regulatory issues, property. Whilst you may not have covered all of these areas you must be a good commercial lawyer who is collaborative and forward thinking.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to be pigeon-holed as you could be involved with anything from: IT outsourcing (telecoms, security, service desk, apps); renewable energy projects to identify sites for solar/wind farms; contracts around capital projects and construction; facilities management and then any other general commercial work you can think of. This is a very varied role for someone who possesses a commercial approach to life and wants to take a risk based approach to help the business achieve its aims.

The client is open to the right person but in order to do the role you must be:

Commercially rounded;
Pragmatic;
UK qualified solicitor (2PQE +);
Collaborative.

The role will report directly into the Head of Legal and at this point in the growth of the business you will have no line management responsibilities.

The business is forward thinking and working from home is allowed on an ad-hoc basis (provided that team cohesion is maintained), there are also flexible hours to suit commuting patterns.

This role would suit a lawyer who is either currently working in private practice and is looking to make the move in-house or a current in-house lawyer who is looking for a broader role, more responsibility and a challenge. The successful individual will be an integral part of the legal team and will be required to be a good team player and have excellent communication skills to directly contribute work to the Head of Legal.
