INSOLVENCY SOLICITOR / CORPORATE RECOVERY - MANCHESTER

Insolvency Solicitor – This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with both contentious and non-contentious insolvency experience to join a well-established city centre team with an outstanding reputation in the market. You will be advising a range of clients from banks and insolvency practitioners to creditors and other companies engaged in corporate recovery proceedings. The team also advises Boards on company turnaround and restructuring issues. Knowledge of personal insolvency would also be advantageous.

AT A GLANCE

  • Job title: Insolvency Solicitor / Associate
  • Location: Manchester
  • Salary: £40,000 - £70,000
  • Reports to: Partner
  • Previous Experience: Insolvency solicitor with 3 PQE or above in contentious and non-contentious insolvency. Our client is willing to consider candidates all the way up to around 8 or 9 PQE.

THE FIRM

Our client is a leading corporate/commercial law firm with a thriving commercial litigation and insolvency practice. Insolvency solicitors within the corporate recovery team advise on a vast range of matters. Examples of work include advising:

  • banks and other asset based lenders on enforcement and claims against insolvent companies;
  • insolvency practitioners on claims against companies or individual directors especially with regard to antecedent transactions and illegal issuing of dividends etc
  • advising companies in relation to wrongful trading or other pre-insolvency trading issues;
  • advising on pre and post administration / liquidation transactions.

The insolvency team are equally involved in high level restructuring and business turnaround initiatives. On the contentious side, examples of work might include anything from obtaining bankruptcy petitions and statutory demands to more complex litigation work arising out of insolvency proceedings.

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR

As in all areas of law ‘commerciality’ is a key pre-requisite. Because of the nature of insolvency, the role favours solicitors who adopt a common sense pragmatic approach. Our client is looking for a driven candidate, technically proficient, but also someone who can apply in a commercial complex to obtain the best outcome.

Ideally, you should have gained solid experience from a reputable Manchester firm and be looking to really build your career with a leading department that continues to assert itself in the market. The firm is also very active in business development and expects all members of the team to be actively involved.

A GREAT OPPORTUNITY

This is a great chance to join a highly active and respected team with the opportunity to grow and develop. The salary on offer is designed to attract the best candidate with an equally attractive suite of benefits.
