One of Ireland's major retail banks with Headquarters based in Dublin City that offers the full spectrum of banking products and services to Personal, Business and Corporate customers, are recruiting for a Solicitor with conveyancing and banking experience to join their team initially on a 6 month contract basis subject to review
In order to underline their position as a pillar bank and to support the continued recent growth of the economy, they have ambitious plans for 2017 and beyond; including a number of major substantial stand-alone projects.
Your new role
You will be a solicitor qualified to practice in Ireland with experience in advising on transactions with a significant banking and property law element; as well as related matters.
Litigation experience would also be beneficial but not an essential pre requisite. The role will be transaction focused and will involve working within a project team led by Group Legal Services.
You must be able to influence and communicate effectively, work on your own initiative, formulate business focused solutions, and participate effectively as part of a team.
This is a significant project for the bank from a strategic perspective, and involves multiple internal and external stakeholders. Group Legal' s role includes:
- Identifying and resolving legal risks associated with non-performing loans including an analysis of security;
- Scoping and collating all relevant security & property information with regards to loan portfolios;
- Resolving conveyancing and security issues;
- Overseeing the remediation of any issues identified;
- Providing general legal advice on relevant banking and property issues;
- Assisting in loan portfolio sales and other large transactions;
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum Criteria required for the role:
1.) Must be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister in Ireland or England and Wales
2.) 3 years' experience in conveyancing and banking transactions
3.) Strong technical competency in the area of conveyancing and banking is essential together with recent and relevant experience
Technical Competencies:
1.) Must have conveyancing and banking transactional experience and be able to deliver commercially focused legal advice.
2.) Have excellent drafting skills.

1.) Ensure the provision of accurate and timely legal advice
2.) Use initiative to develop practical solutions to complex problems
3.) Influence and communicate effectively with a variety of key stakeholders
4.) Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines
5.)
