Our Client, a leading international law firm, require a Business Services Recruitment Adviser to join their Legal and Business Services Recruitment team. Working alongside HR Management, People Development and Legal Learning, the team is responsible for the firm's strategic aim of recruiting, developing and retaining the best people across all the legal practices and Business Services departments. 

ROLE OVERVIEW

The purpose of this role is to manage the sourcing, attraction, selection, assessment and recruitment process for the firms Business Services functions, in line with the overall firm strategy to create and deliver a high performance culture.  Business Services covers all the major functions expected within an office environment, including Marketing & Business Development, Finance, Knowledge & Research, IT & Office Services, Legal project management and Business Change.  

The role requires a high degree of professionalism both internally and externally to candidates considering a career with the firm, maintaining a positive and honest image of the firm through the recruitment process.  With exposure to a wide range of senior people including partners and business services department heads, you’ll be responsible for specific business services departments and will support the business services recruitment adviser. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Role fulfilment:

  • Working with HR and line managers to define the roles and produce job descriptions.
  • Handling the role fulfilment through the following processes:
    • Advising on appropriate sourcing and attraction strategy.
    • Driving forward appropriate direct sourcing method depending on vacancy.
    • Briefing agencies on requirements.
    • Managing direct applicants through the process.
    • Conducting interviews with line managers and/or HR colleagues.
    • Managing the feedback process.
    • Managing the offer process.
    • Liaising with HR Manager/Advisers for Business Services.
    • Checking and processing recruitment invoices.
    • Reporting on recruitment activity.

Relationship management:

  • Building relationships with agencies on the PSL to ensure their understanding of the firm’s requirements and a flow of high calibre applicants.
  • Developing internal relationships with the Business Services managers and other relevant stakeholders.

Process improvements:

  • Reviewing and looking for ways to streamline the current recruitment processes, including better use of technology.
  • Assessing and continually reviewing the PSL.
  • Reviewing and negotiating terms of business from the PSL.

Other:

Involvement in and implementation of a number of key projects from time to time including:

  • Careers site development.
  • Social media recruitment initiatives.
  • Monitor the recruitment spend, tracking agency fees versus 'savings' from direct applicants.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal clients, recruitment agencies and candidates.

  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to juggle competing tasks whilst maintaining good client relationships.
  • Calm and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working as both part of a team and on their own.
  • Extensive experience of working within a recruitment function either in-house or in an agency.
  • Proven ability to recruit at all levels.
  • Ability to manage and negotiate agency contracts.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Candidates must have a strong academic background and will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent.

DESIRED

  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience of working in a law firm environment, or alternatively a similar professional services culture.
  • Experience of using social media/technology as a recruitment tool.
