About the Construction Associate role
This directories rated Construction team based in Bristol boasts an impressive portfolio of clients, assisting both domestic and international clients alike. From a very well regarded base in the South West, their hugely experienced construction and engineering team is firmly rooted throughout the UK and beyond, taking advantage of a strong overseas network across their international offices. This is a great opportunity to join a market leading team and have a broad and exciting workload for clients who are leaders in their fields. This role will purely focus on non-contentious construction and engineering.
The services they provide on construction and engineering transactions include advising on all forms of construction contract arrangements including bespoke contracts, advising on construction aspects of funding agreements, purchase agreements, PPP project agreements and agreements for lease, and advising on construction security matters and construction procurement strategy.
Workflows will include acting on construction and engineering matters from inception to completion including recent matters such as:

Advising on a project based around the UK's first biomass plant fuelled by waste wood. Once constructed, the plant will produce 10.3MW of electricity and divert 67,000t of waste away from landfill.

Advising a client on the development, construction and operation of 1000 beds of student accommodation (including advice on consultancy agreements, building contracts, warranties, bonds).

Advising on 2 large developments in London and one in Manchester. Advising on all construction procurement aspects of the developments.
The team have an outstanding reputation, recognised in Chambers UK 2017 and the Legal 500, therefore presenting the opportunity for the Construction Solicitor to be exposed to high quality work non-contentious construction and engineering work.
About the person
You will have knowledge and experience of Construction matters (non-contentious) which will have been gained at a well-respected City or National firm. Due to the nature of the work and the structure of the team, they are ideally looking to a 1+ years' qualified lawyer, although they will consider candidates with more or less experience.
