Our clients Hansard Global are recruiting an in House Solicitor to join their legal team. The role will be based at their head office on the Isle Of Man.

Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities for the In House Solicitor role

• Deputise for the Group General Counsel as required
• Lead the legal support on Group projects e.g. product development intiatives
• Advise on complex legal matters relating to the operation, licensing and regulation of Group companies global activities.
• Advise the Compliance team on interpretation of regulations and any other matters as required.
• Advise Group companies in relation to third party agreements including the drafting of Terms of Business and principal intermediary agreements.
• Advise on fund propositions, discretionary management structures, asset management agreements and fund advisor agreements.
• Advise on the Group's sales and marketing activities.
• Provide support and guidance to other members of the legal function to support their development

Profile

• Qualified lawyer (English solicitor/barrister or IOM advocate) with 6 years' + post qualification experience in life ssurance/investments (preferably unit-linked) with a proven track record for success
• Self-motivated with the ability to communicate and lead effectively at all levels
• Ability to manage and prioritise own workload in a fast paced environment
• Ability to quickly comprehend complex legal and regulatory issues
• Excellent knowledge and experience of international financial services (preferably offshore unit linked life assurance)
• Excellent skills in training and development of lawyers

Job Offer

The salary will be commensurate with the level of PQE for the In House Solicitor role. There is a good benefits package in addition to the base salary and there is a relocation package available. For this role the candidate could commute weekly or relocate to the Isle Of Man.
