PB/1587
Our client is a listed global financial institution with a long and distinguished heritage. With offices in all major financial centres, its vision is to pursue faster and sustainable growth in emerging markets underpinned by long term values of integrity and stewardship.
THE ROLE
An opportunity has arisen for an additional banking lawyer to join the close-knit and highly experienced legal team based in London. Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a business facing role supporting the Corporate & Investment Banking business on all its international activities.
- This broad role will focus primarily on reviewing and negotiating LMA documentation relating to complex syndicated loan transactions. There will however be opportunities to get involved in other investment banking related transactions such as ECM and M&A, as well as the more general legal activity of the group as whole.
- You will be running and managing your own transactions from start to finish, which will include regular interaction with business stakeholders (at all levels) in London and internationally/across the bank's global network], as well as external counsel. You will need to have a proven track record of project managing, multiple complex cross-border transactions on behalf of multinational clients.
THE PERSON
You will have qualified from a recognised leading UK or international law firm. You will be UK or common law qualified, with at least 3 years solid Investment Banking and Leveraged Finance experience. You will have a track record of supporting and managing complex cross-border investment banking deals for multinational clients. Ideally, you will have some experience of working on emerging markets transactions but this is not a prerequisite.
The right personality and cultural fit is paramount to be successful in this role. You will be a commercially minded individual with an enquiring mind who understands what it means to be a true partner across the business. The Legal team are typically described as 'smart, hardworking, ambitious yet nice'. You will thrive in a multicultural, cosmopolitan, meritocratic environment and enjoy new challenges. The working environment is supportive and progressive: the legal team is highly valued and you will have plenty of career development opportunities both in London and internationally. Some overseas travel maybe required.
