We are seeking a Legal Secretary to work within a busy Commercial Property department of this top-tier Manchester legal powerhouse. Salary circa £20,000 - £21,000 PA plus excellent benefits package.

Once people start working here, they generally do not leave. With close to 180 staff, they must be doing something right! This is a full-service practice with an enviable list of clients, both corporate and private individuals – national and international. They are committed to the City of Manchester and to nurturing local talent and despite having had many offers, have no desire to open offices anywhere else. They are led by a team of partners that is firmly invested in the success of the business by leading from the front.

This is an excellent opportunity for a bright and ambitious legal secretary to join a top, Legal 200 practice. The working environment is excellent, with a real team-working mentality and the Commercial Property department is one of the biggest and busiest in the firm. This is a city centre practice- an amazing location, easily accessible via all other transport links throughout the city centre.

We are seeking someone who will very much fit into the firm’s culture – somebody who is both supporting, but most importantly, engaging.  They want somebody with the ‘X-factor’! You will be an essential link between clients and fee-earners.  You should have at least 1 year’s secretarial experience, ideally within a busy commercial property department.  However, they will also consider applicants with a background in transactional work, such as Corporate or Residential Property secretaries. The emphasis is more on transactional experience. You will naturally have accurate and speedy typing skills; and you will be familiar with the workings of a modern city practice; you’ll understand deadlines; the need to communicate with all key stakeholders (including clients and senior partners); preparing correspondence and documents (including tracking changes); audio typing will be second nature and dealing with the office filing system should be no problem. You will also be familiar with case management systems.

This firm really will invest in you and your future. If you are feeling tired of the same old humdrum, then this is the role for you. This role will stretch and stimulate your mind; ideal for a secretary looking to learn as well as to use all of their skills.

If this sounds like the type of challenge you are looking for, then I would very much like to meet with you.
