TRADEMARK ATTORNEY/SOLICITOR

c. 5 YEARS' PQE

PRIVATE PRACTICE MEDIA BOUTIQUE

REF:1600/PB

Our client is a flourishing, highly ranked, Media & Entertainment focussed boutique law firm.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Trade Mark Attorney (approx. 5 years PQE or equivalent) who will be responsible for managing and developing an existing portfolio, and building the firm's trade mark registration/portfolio practice. The successful candidate will be advising clients, predominantly in the entertainment and new technology fields, on trade mark clearance, trade mark filing and prosecution, portfolio maintenance, IPO disputes and co-existence agreements.

The work is UK and EU-based, but experience in overseas jurisdictions, including Madrid Protocol, is also helpful. Experience in registered designs is not essential, but would be helpful.

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will have proven experience in private practice. Strong drafting and advisory skills are essential together with a pragmatic and commercial manner. You will be part of the broader IP team but with a high level of autonomy (and supervision of a formalities paralegal), and must be confident, organised, driven and able to prioritise and deal with multiple deadlines.

  • UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and/or Solicitor (ideally both or with a law degree if qualified as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney)
  • Experience in private practice
  • Strong client focus with the ability to foster and maintain good client relations
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Take an active role and interest in marketing and business development
