Conveyancing Paralegal

 

A new opportunity has opened for a Conveyancing Paralegal to work within the Residential Conveyancing team of our multi-office, multi-discipline legal practice in North London. The firm has conveyancing practices that operate across a number of sites and with this in the mind are now looking for someone who can support fee earners within a Conveyancing environment at our Chingford Office.

Required Skills:

The successful candidate should have:

  • Previous Paralegal experience in Conveyancing, ideally gained within a busy property environment - Essential
  • Education to Degree level in Law - Desirable
  • Experience in working with a case management system - Desirable

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • To provide written, telephone and office costs estimates to Prospective clients/ Introducers with a full breakdown of costs and disbursements as requested
  • To develop and maintain good client contact relationships and enhance the firm’s client base by effective liaison with existing clients
  • To use the correct procedures and systems in order to manage cases effectively and in accordance with the firm’s standards and legal requirements
  • Providing quotes to new clients
  • Opening client files on our accounting system and dealing with any monies coming in from the clients
  • Dealing with matters and legally preparing the files
  • To assist Fee Earners and or Partners with the gathering of information with regard to working on conveyancing matters such as sales, purchases and re-mortgages
  • Assisting the Office Managing Partner by gathering information for cases and attending clients
  • Completing specific legal forms and documents that must be filed with the Court
  • Deal with research, document drafting and client interviews as per the Office Managing Partners instructions
  • Dealing with registration of client documents
  • Dealing with requisitions raised by HM Land Registry and extending priority periods whenever necessary
  • Submitting HMRC Stamp duty online and carrying out the necessary payments
  • Sending completed Title deeds to the clients and the lenders
  • Dealing with consent order forms as directed by the Office Managing Partner
  • Preparation of correspondence and documents through typing and word processing
  • To administer daily filing which includes the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the office manual
  • Preparation of mail for despatch
  • Dealing with ledger balances by checking the system and then if the balances are zero sending the files to the stored by following this firms protocol
