Legal Counsel (Regulator) 9 month contract

A leading telecoms & technology regulator seeks the support of a Legal Counsel initially on a 9 month contract to provide technical legal and regulatory advice to the enforcement function. You will assist with ensuring quality cases comply with Code Compliance Tribunals and offer general commercial legal support to General Counsel on ad-hoc projects.

The Role
As Legal Counsel you will provide technical legal and regulatory advice to the enforcement function to assist with ensuring quality cases are presented to the Code Compliance Tribunals. In addition the role will provide clerking support to the Code Compliance Tribunals, as well as provide general commercial legal support to the Executive and support to General Counsel on other legal issues or projects as and when they arise. Ad hoc projects can include researching and disseminating legislative and regulatory developments or participating in new or existing policy initiatives, such as the implementation of Company Code of Practice and/or development of procedures or guidance supporting the Code.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years PQE with some solid public law, regulatory and dispute resolution experience, together with a good commercial law grounding. Strong legal drafting and critical analysis skills are essential as is solid regulatory and dispute resolution experience, ideally with commercial law grounding. A strong range of other legal skills including excellent research, influencing and communication skills are important. You will also ideally have had previous experience of public and administrative law. The successful candidate will have flexible working hrs i.e. start 8-10am and finish after 4pm, can occasionally work from home.
