A Global Technology business with a specialism in handheld devises seeks an exceptional mid-level commercial lawyer to report to the Head of Legal and work closely with senior UK business members. You will focus on a broad range of commercial law matters from drafting and negotiating commercial transactions to Product development, Consumer and Counterfeit matters. There is a large proportion of vendor agreements and ad-hoc complex transactional work where you will advise on legal and commercial matters impacting the UK consumer business. To be considered, candidates must have a minimum 2.1 law degree from a Leading university with a minimum of 4 years PQE gained from an International Law Firm and knowledge of electronic devices, e-commerce and consumer products.

The Role
This opportunity is intellectually stimulating which offers an exciting and fast-paced quality of work where you will work as part of a legal team which supports with the strategic development of the UK consumer business. As Corporate Counsel draft and negotiate general business transactions ranging from standard Work with UK PR, Marketing and Advertising, Product Safety teams and you will focus on broad range of commercial and regulatory matters. You will provide day-to-day advice in a wide range of legal areas, including IT, IP, Digital Media and some element of regulatory compliance. You will work closely with legal teams in UK/EMEA and the US where you will have a key responsibility in developing and managing IP infringement and other related issues involving counterfeit.


Candidates
Candidates must have a 2.1 law degree with first class commercial/corporate law experience with the ability to work autonomously on complex transactional agreements. You must have a minimum of 4 years PQE gained from a leading international law firm or in-house legal team of a world renowned electronic devices, e-commerce or consumer products business. The ideal candidate will have solid experience of commercial transactions with the ability to manage multiple projects. You will work closely within a team of 8 lawyers who all have exceptional legal training from international law firms, so candidates must also have a similar background with a good personality and ability to communicate in a pragmatic manner. Candidates must have a love for technology, be knowledgeable of different devices and have excellent presentation and organizational skills. Applications from candidates with an IP/IT Litigation background and having the ability to draft and negotiate in an European language (ideally French or German) is highly advantageous but not essential.
