A Global leader in technology hardware and software devices which is regarded as a leading Consumer Electronics brand seeks the support of a Regulatory and Compliance Legal Counsel to act as principal point of contact for the Global and European HQ Legal and Compliance Teams relating to regulatory and compliance matters affecting the UK and Irish Businesses. This business is a household consumer brand with a sales turnover of £30 bn. Candidates must 5yrs+ be UK/EU qualified with competition regulatory law experience gained from a reputable law firm, ideally having worked in a compliance/regulatory role as well as good commercial and technology experience.

The Role
-Provision of prompt and detailed legal advice in relation to legal questions and documentation, in particular in respect of competition law, and bribery and corruption.
- Management, development and implementation of policies, processes and training to ensure the company meets all necessary regulatory requirements, and the requirements of Businesses Global policies and processes.
- Be a principal point of contact for the Global and European HQ Legal and Compliance Teams relating to regulatory and compliance matters affecting the UK and Irish Businesses.
- Arrange and conduct internal compliance audits throughout the company where required.
- Arrange and conduct training of employees in the business on compliance matters.
- Prepare for and respond to any Global compliance audits which monitor compliance with Global policies.
- Prepare and provide annual and quarterly plans for the compliance function.
- Prepare weekly reports to the UK General Counsel and the CFO of regulatory and compliance activities and issues.
- Liaise with the local Data Protection Manager in respect of data protection compliance.
- To work with and support the UK General Counsel and other lawyers in the team on other legal and compliance matters which arise.

The Candidate
Applicants must be a UK/EU qualified solicitor with competition regulatory law experience gained from a reputable law firm, ideally having worked in a compliance/regulatory role ideally in FMCG. The role would suit candidates with 5+ yrs PQE, although all candidates with relevant experience gained In-House Counsel will be considered. Ideally you will have a wide range of legal skills including legal research, drafting and negotiation, as well as good commercial and technology experience. Candidates should have good academics and have trained at a top tier UK practice or international law firm. Must have a good overall grasp of compliance issues, particularly data protection and ideally have experience of advising global consumer products brands.
