Legal Funding Manager

A new vacancy has arisen in Manchester for an experienced Legal Funding Manager / Personal Injury Manager looking for a new challenge within a non-fee earning role, managing the day to day activities of the funding team and providing guidance and advice to lawyers regarding complex funding issues that arise for individual client. This role would suit a Personal Injury specialist who is looking to come away from fee earning. You will have previous fee earning experience within personal injury and have a keen interest in file auditing.

Duties in this Legal Funding Manager role will include:

• Providing advice to lawyers on complex funding issues, as well as improvement of existing funding practices, monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the ATEI processes and refining where necessary
• Providing guidance to lawyers in respect of: Retainers; Alternative funding options; Current and Legacy ATEI schemes and policy cover, and Non - delegated referral matters
• Maintaining knowledge of all the relevant funding arrangements within the firm
• Auditing and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of data within the management information system to assist with monitoring compliance in accordance with SRA and FCA requirements
• Auditing funding elements of live files as required and providing guidance to lawyers
• Analysing and auditing historic files as required
• Overseeing the process of ATEI policy inception
• Centrally managing the ATEI claims process in line with agreed internal policies and procedures and monitor claims reserves
• Overseeing the process for payments to insurers for concluded matters under each scheme
• Monitoring the accuracy and integrity of data within the management information system to assist with compliance in accordance with SRA and FCA requirements
• Managing the organisation and co-ordination of external audits requested by ATEI providers
• Monitoring service received from ATEI insurers and reporting to PI Management any concerns or trend
• Working with the Technical Operations Manager to support business strategic projects
• Providing supervision to Funding Executives and Funding Assistants and supporting their development
