CONSTRUCTION SOLICITOR

A leading construction organisation is currently looking to recruit a Commercial Solicitor to join the In-House Legal Team. The business offers an excellent working environment and culture, supported by a market-leading benefits package. The successful candidate will be joining a high-performing team of commercially minded in-house legal experts.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting and negotiating amendments to commercial construction contracts
- Drafting and negotiating construction elements of development agreements
- Drafting and negotiating consultant appointments, subcontractor contracts and collateral warranties
- Working with different parts of the Operations Team to ensure that contracts and appointments are in place when required
- Advising and assisting different parts of the business on construction issues
- Managing and collating the supply of information from each department such as drawings, costings and budget to ensure it is accurately reflected in the construction documents
- Preparing legal reports on construction issues and proposed transactions
- Conducting bank transfers from the Solicitors Client Account
- Assisting the legal team with the preparation of section 278 agreements, buildover agreements, deeds of release and electricity substation leases
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years PQE working as a qualified solicitor within Construction
- Practical experience of working for companies within the construction industry (either in-house or Private Practice will be considered)
- Highly pragmatic, autonomous and can-do attitude
- A strong team player who is highly organised and driven to meeting project deadlines
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all members of the business
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
