Head of Private Client

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor specialising in Private Client work to join a small but well-established firm in Halifax. Handling your own caseload covering non-contentious work such as wills and estates, you will have access to a varied client base that registers on a regional scale. Based in Halifax but with nearby offices in the West Yorkshire region, our client is well known across various sectors of Law, from Family matters to Property cases. Building itself an enviable and varied client base of businesses, individuals and families, this is the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to really establish themselves in this area of law.

The Role:
This role is a succession planning role where the new recruit will shortly take over as head of the department.
You will be expected to hit the ground running with your own caseload of non-contentious files, covering work such as wills and estates.
Your work will be of high quality, with some high net worth cases.
Working for a small firm, part of its success comes from energising business development and so our client is looking to recruit someone with a keen interest in this side of things.
If you are able to handle contentious probate matters, this would be an advantage, but not essential for the role

The Candidate:
Ideally, you will come from a strong background in handling Private Client work ideally with around 10 years PQE, however this is just a guideline and candidates that fall outside of this bracket are strongly encouraged to apply.
Preferably, we are looking for STEP qualified candidates
Excellent communication skills are a necessity, with the ability to network with clients from varied backgrounds.
Team players are encouraged to apply, particularly those with a collegiate approach to problem solving.
