Legal Counsel - Software

My client, a global market leader in big data integration and analytics, is currently seeking a Legal counsel to join their busy legal team based in Central London.

This role gives the selected candidate the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience and to work closely with the wider business units advising them upon all legal matters. As such, responsibilities for the role will include;

• Full ownership and management of the contract lifecycle from start to finish, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating NDAs, cloud, software licence, hardware, maintenance and support, OEM, channel reseller and professional services agreements (including statements of work).
• Negotiating, drafting and altering all types of commercial contracts as a technology supplier and buyer.
• Reviewing sponsorship and marketing agreements
• Providing commercially sound general legal advice to the Sales teams on existing contracts.

This is a great opportunity for a lawyer seeking their first in house position to join a fast-growing, agile and innovative business. The ideal candidate will have/be;

• Qualified lawyer (2-3 years PQE or equivalent experience
• Experience of reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts as technology supplier and buyer, in particular, cloud contracts (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) and other managed services engagements, software licensing, maintenance and support and professional services agreements
• Strong communication, drafting and negotiation skills; both written and oral, with a good attention to detail
• Able to adapt to a fast-moving company at the cutting edge of technology with the ability to work in different businesses streams.
