An exciting and challenging role has arisen for a Regulatory Advocate 1 - 3 years' PQE to advise on, prepare and present cases dealt with by a nationally recognised body in order to support their regulatory and disciplinary system. The role is based in London.

These cases involve all those subject to the jurisdiction of the body and cover the full range of conduct of their members both personally and professionally.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing legal advice and support to investigations, including the gathering of evidence and formulating charges.
- Preparing and presenting cases dealt with by the Regulatory Commissions and Appeal Boards
- Providing advice to the body and other stakeholders on regulatory and disciplinary issues.
- Assist as necessary in developing, refining and adjusting the regulatory rules, regulations, systems and procedures
- Assist as necessary in advising on and drafting rule and regulation changes

Candidates must possess a legal qualification (qualified Barrister, Solicitor) in addition to considerable advocacy skills and experience, gained in an adversarial setting. Significant experience of providing advice on investigations and the strength of evidence, preferably in a professional disciplinary context, is essential. The Regulatory Advocate 1 - 3 years' PQE should also be able to demonstrate significant litigation case management experience.

Candidates must be flexible and adaptable, willing to handle a wide range of cases and possess the ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment, often under intense media scrutiny, in order to meet strict deadlines when required. Good IT skills and the ability to be confident, articulate and assertive are a must. The Regulatory Advocate 1 - 3 years' PQE must demonstrate the ability to communicate well at all levels and work effectively both as part of a team and autonomously, using their own initiative.

Due to the requirements of this role, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a screening process that will include an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.
