Regulatory Solicitor

Solicitor with Regulatory experience required to join a local authority in the West Midlands.

Hays are currently working in partnership with a well-established, leading local authority which helps to improve people's lives by providing excellent service every day. Due to the organisation's constant development and expansion, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Solicitor with public sector background.

Your new role
You will be expected to manage your own casework with minimal supervision and provide your specialist advice on various areas of local authority matters such as: employment, civil and criminal litigation, public protection and high courts proceedings. Moreover, you will support your colleagues and council officers at all levels, including advocacy, training and complex document drafting and review. You'll also liaise with members of parliament, officers of all levels of seniority and external organisations.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you will be a UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister, ideally with experience of working within the public sector environment. You will have a good working knowledge of local government procedures and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will also be able to manage your own workload, supervise others and provide training to your colleagues.
