Our client is a busy commercial Law Firm based in the heart of the West End. The role is supporting a Partner in the busy Corporate team who specialise in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures and MBOs.
Requirements
- Able to demonstrate relevant secretarial experience
- Advanced knowledge of Word
- Typing speed 60wpm. 100% accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills are essential for dealing with staff and clients in a professional manner
- Must have a flexible attitude and work effectively under pressure
- Able to use initiative
- Flexible with hours
- Ability to work as part of a team meeting the varied needs of the department
- Organised manner with ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- An understanding of database management
- Contact management
- Good IT skills
- Excel - intermediate level
Responsibilities
- Diary management and meeting arrangements
- Document management
- Document creation and editing using tracked changes
- Use discretion where appropriate when presented with work/information of a personal and/or sensitive nature
- Prepare and send emails/courier packages
- Filing / admin
- Complete billing procedures
- Photocopying
- To take telephone messages and ensure that they are relayed promptly and accurately
- Arrange for files to be sent to storage and retrieved when requested
- Provide back up support for other team secretaries when they are absent or workloads dictate
- Check emails (if requested) when Partner away from the office
- Regularly check (if requested) Partner’s voice messages when Partner away from the office
- Any other ad-hoc duties required to ensure the smooth running of the team
