NEW MEDIA
c. 4-8 YEARS' PQE
CENTRAL LONDON
REF:1619/PB
Our client is a global media and technology business. Originally North American, it operates in over 20 additional countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America. The business is technologically very progressive and brings together the best in Media and Tech.
THE ROLE
We are seeking an additional experienced lawyer, to be based in our client's state of the art International HQ in London. Reporting to the GC for International, the bedrock of this role is commercial/contract law, complemented by Technology, IP etc. It will have a fascinating international remit, which includes:
- supporting the HQ Procurement Team on big ticket deals involving the acquisition of hardware and software. This requires experience of commercial contract drafting and negotiation as well as strategic input on all aspects of each deal, including IP rights (own as well as third party) and assignment provisions which can be crucial in these deals.
- supporting the HQ Business Development Team in all aspects of competing in and winning major international public and private tenders. This requires familiarity with public tendering law. Alternative financing structures are often established in these large tenders and so knowledge of bank and parent company guarantees, operating leases, finance leases and similar will be an advantage.
- supporting senior Sales teams around the world on agreements with Media Agency (buyer) clients. This involves an understanding of antitrust and anticorruption laws and red flags.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
You will be a UK qualified solicitor with robust technical training in a respected private practice firm and solid experience in drafting and negotiating major contracts with an international focus. You will have a particular slant towards large scale IT work, IP and the bidding & tendering process and will enjoy and thrive in a highly developed, technologically innovative environment. The demographic is young, media-friendly, polished but informal and the right cultural and personality fit will be crucial.
A positive work/life balance in conjunction with a competitive remuneration package and good career development opportunities are assured.
