Private Client Trusts & Estates Litigation Solicitor/ Barrister 6+ years’ PQE/ Call READING

Private client department in the Thames Valley is looking to recruit a Trusts & Estates Litigation Solicitor or Barrister of at least 6 years’ PQE/ Call. The role will cover all aspects of Trusts & Estates Litigation, including advising on and acting in disputes in the High Court, with a particular emphasis on contentious trusts, contentious probate (and challenging the validity of the will) and professional negligence. Other types of matter which you may undertake include: • International Trust Disputes • Professional Negligence proceedings • Professional Regulatory Disputes (bringing complaints to a number of regulatory bodies) • advising on intimated challenge under Insolvency Act s.432 regarding transactions to avoid creditors and bringing parallel challenge under section 11 Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 • disputes involving charities • drafting applications to the Court of Protection • removal/replacement of trustees •  proprietary estoppel • costs proceedings (dealing with summary and detailed assessment of costs issues, including complex costs awards).

If you are a qualified solicitor, you will currently specialise in Trusts & Estates Litigation. If you are a Barrister, a significant proportion of the matters you undertake must involve Chancery Litigation/ Trusts & Estates Litigation.
