Lawyer - Commercial

Salary: from £45,000 to £50,000 per annum

We are a multi-million pound business with UK and overseas operations. We are now looking for an additional Commercial Lawyer to join an established and well regarded legal team to take on a varied and interesting role.

Our Commercial Lawyers are involved in a diverse range of matters, many of which are significant, high value and complex. These might include commercial contracts, sale and purchasing, supplier contracts, joint ventures, special projects, IT, intellectual property and data sharing among others.

This is a varied role where you will draft, negotiate and advise on a variety of commercial contracts and legal issues, manage external legal advisers, and mitigate legal and commercial risk.

In addition, the business has several large scale projects that are ongoing, and which require some company secretarial support alongside that provided by our secretariat team.

You will need to be proactive and solution focused, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to operate in multi-disciplinary teams and have a flexible and tactful approach to delivering pragmatic commercial legal advice. You will also need to have the ability to establish good relationships with colleagues, senior management and stakeholders, and a willingness to take on significant responsibility.

You will probably be a lawyer with around 2-4 years pqe in commercial law. You will be based in our Durham headquarters, where the senior management team is located.
