Assistant General Counsel - In House

Our client, a multinational financial bank is seeking an Assistant Legal Counsel to join their Cheshire based team on a rolling monthly contract.

You will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on a wide variety of legal matters across the business. You will work on a range of Commercial & Corporate matters to support the small team of senior lawyers.

Key responsibilities;

* Advise the UK business on all aspects of operational and regulatory matters.
* Advise retail lending activity including consumer credit, data protection and payment services.
* Risk assessments for existing and new business strategies.
* Transactional support in relation to portfolio acquisitions and disposals.
* Analyse and interpret on changes in the financial services sector.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE* including general commercial contracts and regulatory experience. Experience of working in an in-house role and/or with consumer credit knowledge would be beneficial.
