Description
- To line manage the Litigation Team and day to day manage the operational delivery of Litigation services to the client and external clients.
- To provide specialist legal advice and assistance within the areas of law covered by the Litigation Team, as may be allocated by the Director of Legal & Governance, with particular reference to housing disrepair, anti-social behaviour and enforcing tenancies.
- To undertake such duties as may be allocated by the Director of Legal & Governance, to include the preparation of legal documentation, reports, advice and guidance on all aspects of the clients legal work , with particular reference to housing and litigation, both civil and criminal.
- To be knowledgeable and give guidance on the law in the areas of his/her professional responsibility, to boards, committees, sub-committees, members, senior management, officers and any organisation with which the client has an agreement for the giving of advice, ensuring that the policies of the client are represented and implemented efficiently and effectively.
- To prepare and conduct Court Proceedings and to appear as advocate on behalf of the client or any organisation/individual which the client represents, in such courts, tribunals, inquiries and appeals and in such proceedings as maybe directed and to provide specialist legal advice and guidance on the preparation and presentation of the case.
- To meet client requirements consistently and on time, providing both quality of service and value for money.
Profile
Our client is looking to recruit a 2 - 3 year plus PQE Litigation solicitor /legal executive from a public sector, private practice or in house background to join their legal team, based in West Yorkshire. The candidate needs to have legal experience in Housing, Disrepair and Anti -Social Behaviour. Experience of managing others or a team would be desirable.
