Experienced board secretary sought for role in Company Secretariat team of an insurance business

This employer is an award winning, prestigious insurance company. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Legal and Secretarial Team providing professional and technical support to a Strategic Business Unit Board of Directors and the Group Executive Team, ensuring that statutory and governance practices are implemented to the highest standards and to identify, assess and act upon current, new and emerging legislation and legal/governance risks that may impact the business units. Your new role
In this job you will act as Co Sec to this strategic board and certain board committees, organising and attending board and committee meetings and preparing agendas and minutes. You will carry out board evaluations, inductions and board composition reviews and ensure compliance with the Group Governance Framework. You will ensure that the appropriate measured are taken by the board to react to regulatory requirements and changes. You will be looking after around 20 meetings per annum which will to the majority be held in London. If you are going to be based from the London office you will be required to travel to the Gloucester office once every fortnight (and other ad hoc travel). If your main base will be the Gloucester office, travel to London for meetings will be required. There is also the option to arrange for 1-2 days working from home.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent and extensive minute writing and board support experience, ideally within the insurance or financial services sector. In the case of lack of financial services experience, being able to demonstrate the experience of operating at board and board committee level is key. Ideally you will be ICSA qualified and have worked in large corporate organisations before.
