Large company with a national profile is looking to recruit a Construction lawyer of 4 or more years’ PQE to undertake a predominantly non-contentious caseload (though there may be the occasional contentious matter to deal with). The in-house legal team covering Property-related law is based in Leeds and covers all matters relating to the company’s large property portfolio, nationwide. Your role will be to oversee any building projects or refurbishment projects which happen to be on-going at any given point in time. By way of example, they are currently building a new regional office in Manchester and they have recently acquired new premises in London which are currently undergoing extensive refurbishment. At any given point in time, there are usually a number of Construction projects which are being undertaken, either because new land has been acquired requiring building work to provide brand new buildings or transform existing buildings, or because property already in the portfolio requires refurbishment or has become so dilapidated, a new build is required.
Applications are welcome from candidates who have strong experience of non-contentious Construction law or who might currently be undertaking a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. Our client will also consider applications from candidates whose experience is on the contentious side but you must have at least some experience of non-contentious work and have a desire to predominantly specialise on the non-contentious side of things. Any knowledge of Commercial Property law would be welcome but is by no means essential. Benefits include pension, private healthcare insurance and an annual discretionary bonus of up to 10% of your basic salary. Further details about the role will be given on application.
