Corporate Counsel

Exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Commercial Solicitor to move in-house, acting as Corporate Counsel within a global organisation in Newcastle city centre.

You will work alongside the Group General Counsel, assisting in the delivery and development of this market leading insurer’s in-house corporate governance and legal function.
 
This is a key hire within a small team where you will advise on a broad array of corporate commercial matters encompassing commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, information technology and intellectual property, data protection and Solicitors’ professional conduct rules.
 
Other duties will include assisting with the provision of a company secretarial service including compliance, developments in best practice and planning of board, committee and senior management meetings.
 
Applications will be considered from in-house solicitors currently undertaking a Corporate Counsel or General Counsel position or private practice solicitors with 2 PQE+ of corporate commercial seeking a move away from strict targets and long working hours.
