Legal Manager - Northern Europe
A global IT/software business requires a senior commercial IT Lawyer with Team Management experience to lead the In-house Legal Team for UK and Ireland. This role requires you to provide pragmatic legal advice on abroad range of commercial law matters, disputes and Company Ethics/data protection/anti-bribery training.


The Role:
You will lead the Commercial Legal Operations team for UK and Ireland with a line management responsibility for a team of commercial lawyers who provide complex legal advice on end-to-end legal commercial, regulatory and compliance matters. You will work closely with senior management and head of sales, marketing and procurement to oversee and advise with the negotiation on all legal contracts across the operational side of the business. Will manage the legal team and coach them to deliver pragmatic legal advice whilst ensuring that no risk or commercial impact/error will arise. There is possibility of litigation and claims arising which must be handled efficiently and effectively to secure the optimal result for without impacting the business commercially. You will revised and oversee the current legal panel to ensure its meeting expectations relating to cost and overall effectiveness. You will have excellent leadership skills where you can influence your team by offering expert guidance, coaching and development of direct reports and other colleagues both within and outside of the Legal Team.

The Candidate:
Must be a UK Qualified Lawyer with 10+ yrs of Legal experience gained from a leading law firm and working in-house. Must have minimal number of job moves, (max of 3 roles in the past 10yrs) where you show commitment to developing your career and gaining a detailed understanding of contract law with an IT focus. You will be required to have in-depth knowledge of other relevant legal disciplines (e.g. IPR, company law, data protection, competition law, litigation, employment law or property law) is also highly desirable. As a manager you must be an influential and inspiring character who is cable to interact with, influence, advise and support key contacts at all levels across the business. This employer will thoroughly gauge your commercial legal experience and a track record of delivering commercially sound legal advice to business. Strong academics and legal training is required for this role as you will deal with regular legal and commercial issues where you will be expected to deliver pragmatic solutions which are provided in clear explanations with relevant legal & commercial advice.
