A leading global businesses is seeking an experienced solicitor, with management experience, to lead their commercial operations legal team.

The Company

The successful candidate will be joining a well-respected legal team based across the UK but with an established base in Newcastle. The business itself regards the Legal Operations team very highly and recognises the value it adds.

The Role

Providing legal advice to consumer-facing areas of the business, and guidance to the rest of the team, on a broad range of legal issues including: customer contracting and terms and conditions, commercial policy, customer disputes and data protection. The role will also entail line management responsibility across the commercial legal team.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor (circa 7 years plus PQE) with significant commercial legal experience who excels in solving complex commercial challenges that could affect the business. They must be able to confidently manage and develop productive relationships with key stakeholders and management. Detailed knowledge of contract law within the IT industry, as well as a wider knowledge of relevant surrounding legal areas would be desirable.
