Senior Legal Advisor (French-speaking)

Global retail group headquartered in Central London require a French-speaking Senior Legal Counsel to join their team to cover a six-month maternity leave, to start in mid-September.

About the Role

Working as part of a small team in an expanding area of the business, the Senior Legal Counsel will be involved in a varied role including:

• Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements relating to supply, services, marketing, production, design and purchasing.
• IP-related advice
• Liaising with commercial teams across the globe including UK, Europe and Asia
• Handling regulatory matters, with a particular focus on the French market

About You

The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with a proven track record of successfully drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. It is absolutely essential that you are a fluent French speaker who is able to conduct business and draft in French (simply being fluent at a conversational level is not sufficient). Fluent English is also required. Whilst applicants coming from a purely private practice background will not be discounted, previous in-house experience will be viewed as highly advantageous, particularly if it is from the retail sector. The client believes that the work would be well suited to candidates with at least five years' PQE, although all applications will be considered on merit.

This position requires a mid-September start.
