The Residential Team
Their Lawyers handle all types of property transactions for clients throughout East Anglia and beyond. They also act for residential property developers throughout the country and provide conveyancing services for commercial property.
The Role
A Solicitor or Legal Executive is required to join the Residential Property team and assist in the delivery of residential property legal services to their clients. This role with have team leader responsibilities and will provide day to day management of the team to ensure it services meet the needs of the clients and delivers an efficient and profitable service, meeting the firm’s financial and other targets
Roles and Responsibilities
Delivery of Legal Services
- Manage your own caseload
- Conduct meetings and interviews with clients
- Assess legal issues and advise accordingly
- Advise on costs
- Conduct legal research
- Draft documents and letters
- Maintain files
- Deal with financial aspects
- If required, assist Partners within the Property Team based in other offices
- Fulfil budgeted level of fees
- Assist in the development of long term client relationships
- Attend business development activities on behalf of the team and on behalf of the firm
- Pursue referral agreements with local and national Agents
- Promote and cross sell the services of the firm with all external clients
Team Leader Responsibilities
- Maintain a team structure able to support clients’ needs by identifying support, recruitment and training needs
- Clearly communicating job expectations and objectives; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Ensuring the team reach its goals through effectively and efficiently utilising its resources and people, including monitoring workloads and ensuring a fair distribution of work
- Encourage billing throughout the month to meet targets and reporting billing estimates to –BUD for team
- Monitoring Financial Performance such as debts, disbursements, WIP levels and working with BUD and BM to improve financial performance
- Supporting the management team with financial tasks, including analysis, budgeting and forecasting for team
- Working with other teams and Business units to share resources and knowledge and to promote a “one firm” culture
- Identifying learning and development needs of the team and working with Learning and Development to deliver training needs
Knowledge, skills and experience required
You will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least five years’ experience in a similar and comparable environment.
