A London based NHS Trust are seeking an Interim Head of Legal for 12 Months
Your new company

They are also recognised as innovators in embracing methods and systems that promise better and safer patient care. There is now a need to recruit an Interim Head of Legal to cover a 12 month period.
Your new role
As Head of Legal, you will handle and manage all clinical negligence, personal injury, and employer's liability and public liability legal claims brought against the Trust in line with Civil Procedure Rules and NHSLA guidelines, and in tandem with the National Health Service Litigation Authority (NHSLA) and their appointed legal advisors where appropriate. You will lead the response and resolution team to ensure that the Trust management of legal claims is responsive, timely and effective and lead the delivery of change to improve Trust processes associated with learning from and responding to complaints and claims by working closely with the divisions.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you should have substantive complaints and claims handling/clinical governance/risk management experience, preferably within an acute NHS setting. Moreover you should have:
- Thorough understanding of current law and relevant status relating to clinical negligence.
- Knowledge of clinical practice.
- Knowledge of the NHS Complaints procedure.
- Lead/manage a team of staff
- Experience of complaints and claims databases
- High level report and letter writing skills.
- High level communication skills in order to encourage cooperation and effect changes.
