The team is looking for bright candidates with a strong academic background, ideally coming from a recognised defendant firm though claimant experience is also considered.
KEY FACTS
- Job Title: Catastrophic Injury Associate
- Location: Manchester
- Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
- Reports to: Partner
- Previous Experience: This role would suit an NQ to roughly 3 / 4 PQE. Strong academics are essential as is a thorough understanding of the litigation process.
A MIX OF HIGH-VALUE COMPLEX EL/PL AND RTA WORK
The team advises on a rich mix of high value, multi-million-pound EL/PL and RTA cases. These cases are often very high profile and can span different jurisdictions depending upon the matter at hand. The complexity of such instructions necessitates a vast amount of skill and thorough technical understanding of the law.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a more junior member of the team, you will be supporting more senior Associates within the department, including the Head of Department and a Legal Director. That said, this is not simply a supporting role. The successful applicant will be involved at all stages of the matter and play a real part in the case with genuine client contact and the opportunity to build relationships.
The department advises insured and self-insured commercial clients (including blue-chip companies) at the very highest level, so if you are looking for a position that will offer you a fantastic variety of work, coupled with peerless training this surely a role worth investigating.
PROGRESSION
The practice area already is highly respected in the market. However, they have made a commitment to grow this particular catastrophic injury team significantly over the next few years. This will inevitably lead to gaps within the department and opportunities for bright ambitious solicitors to progress further.
