Legal Counsel

An international technology business with a turnover in the hundreds of millions, around 2000 employees across the globe and specialising in software and computing platforms are looking for a Legal Counsel to join them for a full-time, permanent role in Newcastle.

Responsibilities of your new role

Your core duties as Legal Counsel will include:

• Providing technical legal and commercial input to external customer and supplier contracts, projects and other business activities
• Liaising with colleagues across the business in marketing, finance, engineering and HR across numerous international jurisdictions
• Working on bid reviews
• Playing an important part in the negotiation of key supplier agreements
• Liaising with external panel solicitors
• Advising on a breadth of other legal matters ranging from IPR and due diligence to property

Candidate requirements

To be successful in your application to this Legal Counsel role you must demonstrate:

• Strong skills around contracts and contract law
• Experience gained from a recognised commercial law firm
• Sound negotiating and influencing abilities
• Exceptional communication skills
• 1-4 years of PQE in contractual and commercial law

Any experience in the intellectual property or information technology field, or working in-house, is useful but not essential.
