Our Client is a global B2B insurance company in search of a Senior Legal Counsel to assist the Head of Legal & Compliance. They are ideally looking for a candidate with 5+ PQE (no less than 3 pqe) with excellent of commercial contract drafting and negotiating skills along with a solid understanding of Company law and Corporate Governance. Candidates with working knowledge of the FCA rules from a regulatory environment would be advantageous.
The Role
You will focus on supporting the Head of Legal on matters which may affect the company and its clients. You will negotiate the terms and contracts directly with the underwriters, brokers and other third parties. As part of your role, you will ensure the company's worldwide partners are protected in their contractual arrangements and you will regularly review product terms and conditions. This position will expose you to a very commercial environment where you will offer legal and pragmatic advice to senior team members and assist the Sales team on key client meetings to maintain the Company's best interests and reputation. Part of this role requires your input with the Compliance Officers to ensure that all contracts and insurance products include any relevant amendments are within accordance of The FCA regulatory requirements.
The Candidate
Must have a minimum of 3 yrs PQE with a background in drafting commercial agreements with business partners. It's essential that applicants have solid knowledge and experience of contracts review, negotiation and drafting with a preferable background in Financial Services. Candidates with knowledge compliance and FCA rules would be advantageous.
