Gide Loyrette Nouel is the leading full service law firm in France with over 70 partners and four hundred lawyers working out of Paris and 12 offices world-wide.
We are currently looking for assistants for our Prague office. Gide Loyrette Nouel has maintained a presence in Prague since 1992. Since that date, the Office has grown steadily to become the preferred advisor of major French and international investors in the Czech Republic.
The Firm maintains close relations with the Economic Expansion Office and agencies of the European Community Commission responsible for distributing aid to central and eastern European countries and the CIS (notably through the Phare Program) and with international financial institutions present in the region. We are also regularly involved in matters in Slovakia.
As you would expect, the work is varied and our main practice areas are advising companies expanding into the Czech market and reorganizations, real estate law, banking law, privatizations, intellectual property, labour law, litigation and arbitration.
The head of the office is Francois Veit and in addition we currently have 10 associates (lawyers and legal consultants).
We are currently looking for assistants of between 2 and 4 years PQE. You might have a range of experience, from project finance or banking to company commercial or corporate. The work will be extremely varied and challenging. One of the advantages of working in a smaller office is that our assistants gain a wide range of experience and are less closely tied to specific departments.
It is also possible to relocate from Prague to Gide's other offices in Paris or elsewhere.
The package will be highly competitive internationally and will include a relocation allowance. You will have a strong academic background, a good grounding in law and be ready and willing to try a different working environment that will significantly enhance your career prospects. You will have knowledge of the French language but you do not necessarily need to be fluent. You may be currently working in a developing market for another law firm; alternatively you might be working in a developed country's jurisdiction and desire a fresh challenge.
In either case, why not send us your cv. This is an outstanding opportunity for lawyers who wish to work in a varied and challenging environment that will promote your professional and personal development. If you recognize yourself in the above description we would like to hear from you.
