Assistant Lawyers - 2-4 yrs' pqe - Istanbul

We are currently looking for assistants for our Istanbul office. The Istanbul office of Gide Loyrette Nouel has been set up as a Turkish advice bureau and is called GLN Müsavirlik. It is the only French firm currently providing services in Turkey. The Istanbul Office, headed by Guillaume Rougier-Brierre, numbers ten Turkish and French legal professionals. The Istanbul team offers the services of an international firm, hand in hand with solid local expertise. Turkish, French and English are in regular use by members of the team. Local cultural knowledge eases interaction with the authorities and Turkish business associates.

Our Istanbul Office areas of expertise include:

- Mergers & acquisitions,
- Banking and finance,
- Intellectual property,
- Labour,
- Distribution and consumption,
- Taxation, etc.

We pride ourselves on our experience of assisting foreign investors (particularly from Europe) on the formation and acquisition of companies, the acquisition of equity interests, joint ventures, States aids, BOT, concessions and tourism. We also provide advice on Customs Union. The quality of work is extremely high with clients including Goldman Sachs, IBM, AT&T and TotalFinaElf.

We are currently looking for assistants of between 2 and 4 years PQE. You might have a range of experience, from project finance or banking to company commercial or corporate. The work will be extremely varied and challenging. One of the advantages of working in a smaller office is that our assistants gain a wide range of experience and are less closely tied to specific departments.

It is also possible to relocate from Istanbul to Gide's other offices in Paris or elsewhere.

The package will be highly competitive internationally and will include a relocation allowance. You will have a strong academic background, a good grounding in law and be ready and willing to try a different working environment that will significantly enhance your career prospects. You will have knowledge of the French language but you do not necessarily need to be fluent. You may be currently working in a developing market for another law firm; alternatively you might be working in a developed country's jurisdiction and desire a fresh challenge.
