Gide Loyrette Nouel is the leading full service law firm in France with over 70 partners and four hundred lawyers working out of Paris and 12 offices world-wide.
We are currently looking for assistants for our Hanoi office. Gide Loyrette Nouel has been developing its practice in Asia for more than ten years and has offices in Beijing and Hanoi. For each office, the Firm has set up teams of foreign and local lawyers and legal consultants with appropriate professional and linguistic skills, who work together with the lawyers in charge of each Asian office in Paris, as well as with local firms and with correspondents in other Asian countries, particularly in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Singapore and Tokyo.
Gide Loyrette Nouel's involvement in Vietnam began in the late eighties and since then the Firm has worked actively for local investors as well as for local administrations. Gide Loyrette Nouel's practice in Vietnam is handled by a team of some ten lawyers and legal consultants, managed by Nicolas Audier, under the supervision of two partners based in Paris, Michel Pitron and Christophe Eck. The Firm advises government authorities and individual investors on various aspects of foreign trade transactions and Vietnamese law, in all stages of their transactions.
Our Hanoi Office areas of expertise include advising on foreign investments in Vietnam, for example, assisting foreign companies considering investing in the country (joint ventures, 100% foreign-owned companies, business co-operation agreements, BOT agreements), notably in the areas of insurance, banking, construction and the hotel, petroleum and pharmaceutical industries, business law, finance/project finance, taxation, real estate transactions and financing, intellectual property, labour law, customs law and litigation and arbitration.
We are currently looking for assistants of between 2 and 4 years PQE. You might have a range of experience, from project finance or banking to company commercial or corporate. The work will be extremely varied and challenging. One of the advantages of working in a smaller office is that our assistants gain a wide range of experience and are less closely tied to specific departments.
It is also possible to relocate from Hanoi to Gide's other offices in Paris or elsewhere.
The package will be highly competitive internationally and will include a relocation allowance. You will have a strong academic background, a good grounding in law and be ready and willing to try a different working environment that will significantly enhance your career prospects. You will have knowledge of the French language but you do not necessarily need to be fluent. You may be currently working in a developing market for another law firm; alternatively you might be working in a developed country's jurisdiction and desire a fresh challenge.
In either case, why not send us your CV. This is an outstanding opportunity for lawyers who wish to work in a varied and challenging environment that will promote your professional and personal development. If you recognise yourself in the above description we would like to hear from you.
