The Role
An opportunity exists for a solicitor with 2-3 years qualified experience to join our Charities and Philanthropy team.
The team consists of 13 solicitors (3 Partners, 1 Of Counsel, 5 Assistant Solicitors, 1 Consultant and 3 Trainees). The successful candidate will work with the whole team and is also likely to work with solicitors across the global Firm on matters where a charity client, or charity law issue is involved.
The team services a diverse client base ranging from individuals to institutions and companies (both for profit and not for profit and both public and private).
The role will entail a wide range of commercial and corporate work, trusts and tax and may also have an international dimension.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have an excellent academic background. A sound knowledge of company law and commercial contracts is essential (i.e. 2-3 years PQE). Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have commercial ‘nous’ and be proactive and creative in approach. Previous exposure to charity clients and or charity law would also be useful although specialist training will be given.
Operating in a small team you will need to be a team player. Your development is important to us and our team based approach to work will ensure that you have high client exposure and high autonomy within a supportive environment.
