ASSISTANT - CORPORATE TAX 5yrs+ pqe

We advise governments, multinationals, other businesses and individuals on their UK and international taxation strategies and needs. Our clients include leading financial institutions, UK and overseas quoted companies, government agencies, governments, SMEs and start-ups. The Tax Partners are all acknowledged as leading experts in their fields of specialisation and are supported by a highly qualified expert team. The team advise companies on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructurings and other corporate needs. The Tax Group is closely involved in the evolution of UK tax law, through its links with various research and lobbying organisations. We are now looking for a talented Tax lawyer to join this outstanding team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• giving advise on the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions
• working on corporate restructurings
• giving advise on a wide area of complex tax law
• working on precedents for tax deeds/warranties and covenants
• assisting with general tax work
• research on points of law or development work for tax, as required
• providing detailed and complex advise to high profile clients
• training and supervision of junior members of staff

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• proven track record in the areas of work listed above;
• strong UK tax experience (essential)
• good technical skills
• commercial acumen
• excellent academics (min of 2.1 or equivalent from a good university);
• good team player.
