- About Our Insolvency & Restructuring Team
The Insolvency teams expertise spans turnarounds, work-outs, re-organisations and restructurings through to formal insolvency (corporate partnership and individual), both nationally and internationally.
The team's client base includes accountancy practices, lenders, liquidators, receivers and administrators as well as other stake-holders such as pensions trustees, charity trustees, equity investors and local authorities. The group has also built up an excellent reputation and niche practice in cross-border insolvencies. The group acts for a number of international clients from Europe, the US, Australia and elsewhere, enabling it to build up significant international and cross-border expertise and contacts.
- About the Role
You will be involved in a wide range of formal insolvency and restructuring work for a range of clients including lenders, accountants, pension trustees, equity holders and corporates encountering difficulties. You will work with colleagues across the firm, particularly in our corporate, banking and finance teams, providing high quality legal advice on debt management, restructuring and workout advice.
- You will also be involved in advising on:
Cross border and conflicts insolvency issues
Dissolution options (voluntary liquidations and striking off applications)
LPA receiverships
Drafting and implementing of CVAs
A range of due diligence and contingency planning exercises
In addition, all members of the team are involved in marketing and business development activities.
- Knowledge, Skills and Experience
We are looking for an assistant to join our team, ideally with 2-3 years PQE, however all levels of experience will be considered. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Experience from one or more leading law firms
An ability to build strong client relationships
Sound technical insolvency experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including drafting)
Flexibility, in terms of the work to be undertaken and the level of involvement in transactions
A willingness to take on responsibility
A commercial outlook and be willing to develop through experience
An ability to work to demanding deadlines whilst maintaining a calm demeanor
