Banking Paralegal - Birmingham - Job Description

To support and assist fee earners on a range of Banking projects within the team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring and monitoring compliance of loan agreement conditions
• Drafting ancillary documentation (such as board minutes and directors certificates) on transactions under supervision
• Undertaking company search reviews
• Drafting of security documents on the basis of precedents under supervision
• Drafting financial assistance documentation using precedents under supervision
• Drafting Companies House forms for registering security and deeds of release
• Liaising with clients and other parties
• Chasing up documents by telephone/email
• Assisting with preparation for completion meetings and attending completion meetings if required
• Liaising with other members of the firm (e.g. where the matter assisting on is a corporate support job)
• Attending meetings with team members
• Sending out original documentation to clients
• Following up condition subsequents
• Bibling
• Non-chargeable work (e.g. research required by the team)
• Managing the portal (electronic document system) for a Housing Association.

Training provided if required.

Person Specification

Key Skills and Experiences:

• Some experience of Corporate/Banking work would be advantageous
• Experience of working in a legal environment would be advantageous
• Experience of, and confidence in, liaising with clients, colleagues and other solicitors.
