Dealing predominantly with Personal Injury, the Basingstoke office is recognised as one of the largest Personal Injury practices in the country and a major force both in the south and nationally.
Shoosmiths has a justified reputation for Claimant Litigation from Serious Injury to Small Claims. Testament to this is that many prominent insurers and motoring organisations which are household names, use them for their Claimant work.
As an “Investor in People” Shoosmiths fully illustrate their commitment to their employees, perhaps best illustrated by their heavy investment in both legal and skills training, as well as IT training to enable their staff to take full advantage of their advanced case and document management systems.
Shoosmiths provide financial support to those staff wishing to pursue professional qualifications, in particular those seeking to qualify as members of the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) and College of Personal Injury Law (CPIL) accreditation.
They encourage their case handlers to become members of organisations such as The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and training objectives/programmes to enable members of staff to be well placed to secure internal promotion.
In recognising the importance of retaining strong individuals, Shoosmiths provide their employees with a variety of benefits including competitive packages, profit share and the use of a team of experienced lawyers who will provide sickness and holiday cover for all fee earners. Additionally, experienced fee earners returning to work will be given the option to work flexible or part-time hours.
At present, opportunities exist for legal executives with a minimum of 6 months’ Personal Injury experience to deal with fast track caseloads comprising actions arising from Road Traffic Accidents. Experienced applicants seeking part-time or flexible hours are also sought to join the Holiday and Sickness Cover team.
