A leading south east law firm, with a presence in Sussex as well as London are currently recruiting. They are looking for a Paralegal to work in their Commercial Dispute Resolution group within the Debt & Leasehold Recovery Team. You will be part of the team specialising in debt recovery work and will be responsible for your own caseload of work and will contribute to the team's revenue targets. The role will include tasks such as drafting letters, issuing Court proceedings, running undefended Court claims and dealing with our clients on a regular basis. The successful candidate will be required to undertake file management and administration and provide support to other fee-earners within the group.

The successful candidate should have some previous experience of debt recovery work although this is not essential. Candidates should be knowledgeable about and comfortable with Microsoft Office products and previous experience of a case management system would be advantageous although full training will be given. Client care is important for the group and candidates should be committed to excellent client care.

You should have strong academics and should have previous legal work experience or academic knowledge. Previous debt recovery experience is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate must be able to conduct legal research, and be able to communicate information to clients in an accessible way.

The role will be initially for a fixed term of one year, in part to cover maternity leave. The position will be reviewed at the expiry of the fixed term. The position is open now and the client ideally wants someone to start as soon as possible.
