Business affairs administrator - Job Description

Job Purpose:
To give administrative support to the Business Affairs Team particularly in relation to “New Media” exploitation.

Accountabilities and responsibilities:
Overseeing a New Media Rights Administration Processes

Working with the Business Affairs team to:

1) Interpret the rights agreements agreed with our programme suppliers and extract relevant new media details.

2) Maintain our new media systems, databases and spreadsheets to accurately record the rights we have acquired from suppliers and the rights we have licensed out to third parties.

3) Coordinate the process of exercising of our Video On Demand contract options with suppliers.

4) Produce weekly “Simulcast” and “Catch-Up” rights status grids to distribute to internal exploitation areas.

5) Provide assistance in compiling internal and external new media exploitation reports.

6) Provide an initial contact point for new media rights queries on Network and Digital Channels programming

7) Ensure clear and accurate paper records are maintained and sound administration processes are followed for all new media transactions.

As the commercial television environment is rapidly changing a requirement to be flexible is a must. You must be willing to develop existing processes to meet the business needs as they are presented and as they may change.

Experience in a broadcast, production or new media environment ideal
Understanding of contracts and legal rights in television a distinct advantage
Appreciation of the opportunities and challenges posed by new forms of television distribution a further advantage
Willingness to adapt
Highly organised and good time management skills
Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Process driven but ability to think creatively to improve workflows and systems
Team Player
Strong IT skills essential
