BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Penningtons Solicitors LLP is a commercial and private client law firm with offices in the City of London, Basingstoke and Godalming. It has close links to firms worldwide through its membership of Multilaw and the European Law Group. The firm now has a streamlined divisional structure and ambitious plans for growth over the years ahead.

To aid these growth plans, and following a review of the Marketing and Business Development function, a new Director is sought to lead a reshaped and refocused department.

This board level appointee will be expected to:
• Provide leadership to the executive of the firm on how best to execute the Marketing and Business Development elements of the strategic plan.
• Further educate and enthuse the partnership in relation to more effective client relationship management and business development action.
• Manage and develop the Marketing and Business Development team to support the delivery of business plan objectives.
• Continue to promote a business development culture within the firm and introduce more structure and process where required.

The right person will:
• Have energy and impact and be highly credible.
• Be an excellent manager, leader and coach.
• Have substantial sales/business development experience in a business to business services market.
• Possess a general understanding of professional services and a deep knowledge of how corporate and private individuals go about buying such services.
• Understand how to integrate marketing communications and technology into the sales and business development cycle.
